Info: I am Robert Eyles and my family owned Eyles & Eyles Ltd the Standard-Triumph Distributors in Oxford. I was still at school in 1959 when the Triumph Herald was announced.

There was a 'Teaser Campaign ' from April 22nd to May 12th with a car sized crate in the showroom - which was empty and the cars went on display in the showrooms on May 13th. The cars had been previously delivered in secret at night and my father arranged that our 12 cars ( 2 transporters ) be delivered at the weekend so I could be there. Some of these cars went to our dealers around the county. They were mainly two tone and my father licensed a coupe in monaco blue / sibring white reg no 2 FJO as a demonstrator.
