Info: In 1962/64 I owned and ran a 1959 Herald 948 saloon registered 560 JYC, with twin SUs as normally only fitted to the coupe. It was in targa purple, and altogether a very pretty little car. I traded it in for a 1962 1600 Vitesse Mk. 1 registered NGL 428, this car being in jonquil with a white stripe - very smart! Both cars became rather infected with the dreaded tin beetle, particularly the outriggers, and I changed to a Cortina 1500 estate in 1966.
