My father had a 948 with a GY chassis number which denoted a saloon with the coupes twin SU carb engine.
It was bought new in about 19?? not sure but the registration was a Warwickshire one 6080 NX.

My own experiences were predominantly with 1250s and 1360. For your information my first one was a 1250 registered in 1962 the reg no. being a Coventry one 150 KV which I kept for many years finally going onto a Dolomite
