Info: Around 10 years ago I brought a Herald Convertible rear tub to convert my 68 Mk2 Vitesse saloon to a convertible! The rear tub was a light white/cream, I cannot remember if it had a darker coloured flash, there is no colour or interior trim info on the standard Triumph Herald Commission plate.
The Commission Number of the Herald was Y15930CV, and was obviously an Australian 'knock down kit' assembled by AMI here in Melbourne. Its KD number was 916KD identified by a simple 3 by 1.5 inch Aluminium Plate with the ID numbers stamped thereon & pop rivetted.
When I brought the job lot it had Convertible doors, with anti burst fittings & glass, the complete rear tub, boot lid, roof frame & many internal & suspension bits, BUT NO front tub, bonnet, engine, driveline or chassis.
The rear conv tub has been mated to a Aug 1968 Mk2, 2 litre Vitesse saloon Commission No. HC50103DL, UK Reg PDN522G. The Vitesse was purchased by me in 1971 & was my personnel export to Aus in Dec 1973 & I have owned all the time.
